I was looking through my schools trend predictives for NewYork Fashion Weeks Spring/Summer 2010. I came across this collection, "Boy Band of Outsiders" and I am obsessed.
Scott Sternberg, the designer has stayed true to his "rebel-prep" roots. Boy Band of Outsiders was founded in 2004, in menswear "Band of outsiders". Women caught wind of Sternbergs collection, and his ability to change classic pieces into something fresh and started purchasing smalls of his menswear collection. Sternberg launched his womenswear collection in 2008, adding "Boy" in front of the previous collection title for an added touch of irony.
How can you not adore the menswear inspired collection? The oversized mens pea coat/dress, the body-con green and navy wrap skirt or denim cropped trousers? Amazing.
Keep your eye out for Boy Band of Outsiders, it has only been gracing the runways since 08- but I have a feeling it will be around for many more seasons.
